Our Retinol Serum Base is a powerful and versatile skincare product with a carefully selected blend of natural and vegan ingredients, including retinol, green tea extract, glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid. The retinol is encapsulated in liposomes, which helps protect the retinol and allows it to penetrate the skin more effectively. 

Upon application to the skin, this shell dissolves or breaks down gradually, releasing the retinol slowly and evenly — helping reduce irritation while enhancing skin penetration.

Traditional retinols are free form molecules of Vitamin A. This can make them a bit unpredictable leading to side effects and irritation. Encapsulated retinol is basically a retinol molecule that's wrapped up inside a carrier system. This technology allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin layer before being activated. It is a time-release technology as it prolongs the time between the product hitting your skin and when it starts working. This is different from traditional retinol because it causes less skin dryness, irritation, and flaking ... making the product much more tolerable! This technology also creates a more stable product with a prolonged shelf-life. The capsule protects the retinol and make is less vulnerable to break down.

How to use: 

Best applied once a day in the evening as Retinols can make the skin sensitive to the sun. Apply it first before layering other skincare products!  It's important to use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while using products that contain retinol.
